Il 25 febbraio 2011 Ex Elettrofonica è lieta di presentare nel proprio spazio Segreto Manifesto di Guendalina Salini.
Partendo dal frammento di Eraclito per cui la natura (delle cose) ama nascondersi, l’artista prende le mosse per realizzare una serie di installazioni che coinvolgono lo spettatore in un labirinto mentale e fisico. Specchi, ombre dipinte, camuflage, mappe, elementi naturali, video, immagini appartenenti alla storia dell’arte compongono un immaginario dinamico e circolare, in cui confluiscono diversi significati aperti a interpretazioni sempre nuove.
Segreto Manifesto è un ossimoro che chiama in causa la natura stessa dell’arte, la sua capacità di svelare nascondendo il visibile. L’opera dunque si fa portatrice del rapporto sempre ambivalente dell’uomo rispetto alle cose del mondo e della natura, stimolando un dialogo continuo tra ciò che è manifesto e ciò che è nascosto, tra luci ed ombre, tra visibile e invisibile. Questa mostra pone l’accento su una delle questioni fondamentali del dibattito estetico contemporaneo: oggi non si tratta più di rendere visibile l’invisibile, ma di restituire alle immagini le proprie complesse profondità.
Guendalina Salini si forma a Londra, attualmente risiede a Roma. Nel 2001 esordisce a Londra nella galleria Sprovieri, ha esposto il suo lavoro in Italia e all’estero con mostre collettive e personali. In Italia negli ultimi anni ha preso parte al progetto ’Artist’s Corner’ (Auditorium Parco della Musica, Roma), al Festival del Cinema di Locarno, al Festival del Cinema di Roma, alla Fondazione Isola di San Servolo (Venezia), alla Fondazione Baruchello ed alla Fondazione Fendi.
On February 25th 2011 Ex Elettrofonica is pleased to present in its own space Segreto Manifesto (Manifest Secret) by Guendalina Salini.
Starting from the fragment of Heraclitus declaring that the nature (of things) loves to hide itself, the artist was prompted to realise a series of installations that involve the spectator in a mental and physical labyrinth. Mirrors, painted shadows, camouflage, maps, natural elements, videos and images belonging to the history of art make up a dynamic, circular imagery where different meanings converge, open to ever-new interpretation.
Segreto Manifesto (Manifest Secret) is an oxymoron that calls into question the nature of art itself, its capacity to reveal by hiding the visible. In this way the work carries the always ambivalent relationship of man with the things of the world and of nature, stimulating an endless dialogue between what is manifest and what is hidden, between lights and shadows, between visible and invisible. This exhibition places emphasis on one of the fundamental issues of the contemporary aesthetic debate: today it’s no longer a question of making the invisible visible, but of giving images back their own complex depths.
Guendalina Salini trained in London and currently lives in Rome. In 2001 she made her debut in London at the Sprovieri Gallery, and has exhibited in Italy and abroad in collective and personal exhibitions. In Italy in the last years she has participated in the ‘Artist’s Corner’ project (Auditorium Parco della Musica, Rome), in the Locarno Cinema Festival, in the Rome Film Festival, in the San Servolo Foundation (Venice), in the Fondazione Baruchello and in the Fondazione Alda Fendi.
