Venerdì 18 ottobre, dalle 17.00 alle 21.00, The Blank Residency organizza un Open Studio, accompagnato da unoSpritz Party, per dare la possibilità di conoscere lo studio di Arianna Ferrari e Alexandros Pissourios, gli artisti che sono stati selezionati per la prima edizione di Project Proposal Residency.
Arianna Ferrari (Bergamo, Italia, 1986) lavora nell’ambito della performance riflettendo in senso critico nei confronti di una società invasa dalle tecnologie. Con le sue azioni cerca di riscoprire quei corpi, siano essi il corpo umano, luoghi o oggetti, che hanno perso la loro funzione originale.
Alexandros Pissourios (Limassol, Cipro, 1982) lavora con il film, il video e la fotografia. Il punto di partenza del suo lavoro è l’osservazione diretta dell’incontro con nuovi luoghi e del movimento dei corpi al loro interno. Il risultato del processo si trova su un piano a metà tra l’immaginazione e la memoria dove l’artista approda sviluppando una riflessione sull’uomo attraverso i giochi della percezione.
In occasione dell’Open Studio saranno proiettati lavori precedenti di Arianna Ferrari e Alexandros Pissourios al fine di comprendere la loro personale pratica artistica. Gli artisti presenteranno inoltre la ricerca che hanno sviluppato nel corso di Project Proposal Residency, durante il quale hanno avuto la possibilità di confrontarsi con il territorio di Bergamo e collezionare materiale che potrà essere lo spunto per lavori futuri.
Project Proposal Residency, a cura di Cristina Rota, è un progetto di residenza che si rivolge ad artisti italiani ed internazionali impegnati nelle arti visive con lo scopo di offrire occasioni di sviluppo delle personali ricerche artistiche, pratiche e teoriche.
18th October, Friday, from 17.00 to 21.00, The Blank organises an open studio, accompanied by a Spritz Party, to give the opportunity to learn the study of Arianna Ferrari and Alexandros Pissourios, the artists who were selected for the first edition of Project Proposal Residency.
Arianna Ferrari (Bergamo, Italy, 1986) works in the context of performance reflecting on the critical measure of the technological invasion in a society. By seeking actions to rediscover those bodies, whether it is subjected to human body, places or objects, that are lost in their original functions.
Alexandros Pissourios (Limassol, Cyprus, 1982) works with film, video and photography. The starting point of his work is within the direct observation of the encounter with new places and the movement of bodies. The process results on a halfway between imagination and memory where the artist develops a reflection on man by playing with perception.
Previous works of Arianna Ferrari and Alexandros Pissourios will be shown during the Open Studio in order to understand their personal artistic practice. The artists will also present researches that have been developed during the course of Project Proposal Residency, that they were given the opportunity in seeing the local territory of Bergamo and collecting materials for reference in their future works.
Project Proposal Residency, curated by Cristina Rota, is a residential project that seeks for Italian and international artists who work on visual arts for a purpose to provide opportunity to develop personal artistic, theoretical and practical research.
