<\/font>Il 1° settembre 2012, alle ore 18:00,<\/b> presso lo spazio espositivo “La Piscina” dell’Isola di San Giorgio Maggiore verrà inaugurata “<\/b>Pesci fuor d’acqua”<\/b><\/i>, mostra di fotografie contemporanee di Carlo Rocchi Bilancini<\/b>, promossa da Umberto Morera, <\/b>curata da \u017diva Kraus<\/b> ed organizzata in collaborazione con la Fondazione Giorgio Cini<\/i>.<\/font><\/p>\n

\n\t\t <\/p>\n

<\/font>Le immagini di Rocchi Bilancini rappresentano soltanto quello che in effetti sono: ritratti di umani vestiti, determinatisi, chissà mai perché, ad immergersi nelle acque di indefinite piscine; ove poi l’acqua costituisce tanto l’elemento unificante, quanto ciò che dà loro la forza di manifestare le differenti personalità. <\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font>Un percorso rappresentativo che trascende la realtà e che affonda nel più puro Surrealismo (sur-realtà, “oltre la realtà”), ove la componente onirica è il mezzo per superare le gabbie della razionalità cosciente e delle convenzioni sociali. E davvero poco importa ove verrà condotta la psiche dello spettatore, nella consapevolezza – propria dei film surrealisti di Luis Buñuel (Un chien andalou<\/i>, 1928; L’âge d’or<\/i>, 1930) – che la fantasia e il sogno altro non sono che spietata osservazione della realtà.<\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font>La ricerca di Rocchi Bilancini, durata quasi quattro anni e derivante da precedenti esperienze cinematografiche dell’autore, viene oggi presentata in un contesto surreale: immagini di piscine congruamente colme, pur tuttavia divenute temporaneamente inadeguate nell’ospitare corpi umani non denudati, esposte in una piscina incongruamente vuota, pur tuttavia divenuta temporaneamente adeguata nell’ospitare le immagini di Rocchi Bilancini.<\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font>Il tutto, in un’Isola di Venezia, città ove la “Piscina<\/i>” è ricorrente toponomastica, l’acqua è costante visiva e sonora e l’immersione dell’umano vestito rappresenta circostanza ormai subita, e forse accettata, nel rincorrersi dell’acqua alta.<\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font>Carlo Rocchi Bilancini nasce nel 1973 a Todi in una antica famiglia di vetrai. E’ un fotografo con una singolare visione artistica, sulla cui formazione hanno molto influito le collaborazioni con il regista Pupi Avati e con il fotografo Enrico Sarsini. Dopo la laurea in Economia ha frequentato la Fondazione Forma per la Fotografia. Le sue foto, evocative e inquietanti a un tempo rivelano interesse che le forme essenziali esercitano su di lui. Il suo obbiettivo lacera l’involucro – strutturale, naturale, o creato dall’uomo – per raggiungere l’anima del soggetto, sia esso figura umana oppure oggetto.<\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font>La mostra Pesci fuor d’acqua espone una selezione ragionata delle fotografie di Carlo Rocchi Bilancini raccolte nell’omonimo libro, edito da Skira<\/span> nel 2011 con testi di Federico Sardella, Antonia Mulas, Malcolm Bull e Brian O’Doherty.<\/i><\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font><\/font>On 1 September 2012<\/span><\/b>, Umberto Morera<\/b> presents the contemporary photographs of Carlo Rocchi Bilancini<\/b> in a show entitled Fish Out of Water<\/i><\/b>, curated by \u017diva Kraus<\/b>, and organised in collaboration with the Fondazione Giorgio Cini<\/i>. The opening will take place in the exhibition space “La Piscina” on the Island<\/st1:placetype> of San Giorgio Maggiore<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place> at 6 p.m.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font> <\/font><\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font>Rocchi Bilancini’s images represent just what they are: portraits of people dressed and somehow determined to immerse themselves in unrecognisable swimming pools, where water is the common element, but also that which inspires them to manifest diverse personalities.<\/o:p><\/font><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font><\/font>He takes the representative route, which nevertheless transcends reality, and enters into pure Surrealism, where the oneiric component becomes the means for escaping the constraints of conscious rationality and social convention. <\/span>It matters little where the observer’s psyche is led when one realises that fantasies and dreams are but cruel reflections of reality: consider the surreal films of Luis Buñuel (Un chien andalou<\/i>, 1928; L’âge d’or<\/i>, 1930).<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font>Today, Rocchi Bilancini’s images, the culmination of four years’ work and the fruit of his cinematographic experience, are presented in a surreal context: images of swimming pools that are, as usual, full of water, yet nevertheless rendered temporarily inadequate because they hold clothed bodies; they are however shown in a pool which is curiously empty, yet just right for presenting the photos.<\/o:p><\/font><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font>The whole, on an island in the Venetian lagoon, in a city where the term “Piscina<\/i>” is a toponomastic reference, water is constantly visible and audible and the soaking of a dressed figure is a frequent and accepted sight during the acqua alta<\/i>.<\/o:p><\/font><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font><\/font>Carlo Rocchi Bilancini was born in Todi in 1973 to an old family of glassmakers. A photographer with a unique artistic vision, he has been much influenced in his work by collaboration with the film director Pupi Avati and the photographer Enrico Sarsini. <\/span>After graduating in Economics, he attended the Fondazione Forma per la Fotografia. <\/span>Rocchi Bilancini’s photographs, evocative and unsettling, reveal his profound interest in essential forms. He sees through structural, natural and man-made exteriors in order to reach the soul of his subjects, whether human figures or inanimate objects.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n
